Inhalt des Workshops 

Data Analytics wird in Wissenschaft und Praxis immer wichtiger. Jedoch sehen sich Organisationen und Unternehmen zunehmend neben den Möglichkeiten auch den Herausforderungen ausgesetzt. Vor allem die Kombination von strukturierten und unstrukturierten Daten, Data Engineering sowie unterschiedlichen Analyseverfahren und Visualisierungsmethoden sind große Herausforderungen. Ebenso das oft fehlende Know-how in diesem Themengebieten, stellt einen kritischen Stolperstein hierbei dar. Durch die Nutzung und Analyse von Daten können Prozesse in verschiedenen Bereichen verbessert oder gar neu implementiert werden, oft aber nur mit Hilfe externer Serviceanbieter oder interner Kompetenzcenter. Neuere Technologien bspw. aus dem Bereich der Generative AI / Large Language Models und die Kombination mit etablierten Ansätzen (bspw. Agenten, Ontologien, etc.) stellen weitere neue Möglichkeiten und Herausforderungen für Unternehmen dar. Der Workshop soll wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse zu den Möglichkeiten und Herausforderungen aufzeigen und diskutieren, um der Community einen Beitrag für dieses wichtige Thema in Wissenschaft und Praxis zu zeigen.

Mögliche Themen bzw. Themengebiete (nicht ausschließlich begrenzt auf diese) 

  • Entwicklung und Nutzung von Data Analytics Lösungen  
  • Möglichkeiten und Herausforderungen von Data Analytics in Dienstleistungs- und Produktionsunternehmen  
  • Organisatorische Verankerung der Entwicklung und des Betriebs von Data Analytics Lösungen (Analytics Center of Excellence, Data Science Teams, externe Dienstleister)   
  • Nutzung von unterschiedlich strukturierten Daten (unstrukturiert, semi-strukturiert, strukturiert) in Data Analytics Projekten  
  • Nutzung von NLP, Generative AI / LLMs, Agent AI, Chatbots, Q&A systems, Object Recognition, Voice Analytics, Simulation zur Datenanalyse und Process Mining 
  • Adoption, Akzeptanz und Verständlichkeit von Data Analytics Lösungen, Explainable AI 
  • Sicherung der Datenqualität in Analytics Projekten  
  • Datenvisualisierung und Data Storytelling in Data Analytics Projekten 
  • Nutzung von synthetischen Daten zum Training von Data Analytics Lösungen  
  • Compliance und rechtliche Aspekte von Data Analytics Lösungen  
  • Spezifika von Data Analytics für KMUs  
  • Produktivsetzung und Betrieb, Wartung von Data Analytics Lösungen  
  • Aspekte des Projektmanagements von Data Analytics Projekten (bspw., Agile, PoC, MVP, Lighthouse Projects, etc.) 
  • Technologische Aspekte in Data Analytics (bspw. neue Datenbanktechnologien oder Zugriffsverfahren). 
  • Ökologische Auswirkungen und Nachhaltigkeitsaspekte und Ressourcenverbrauch von Data Analytics, Green AI 
  • etc. 

Es sind sowohl theoretische als auch praxisorientierte Beiträge mit Bezug zu Data Analytics herzlich willkommen.

Die Beiträge können entweder in englischer oder in deutscher Sprache eingereicht werden. 

Alle Beiträge sind für die initiale Submission ohne Autoreninformationen im Paper einzureichen (blindes Reviewverfahren). 

Publikation 

Nach erfolgreicher peer-reviewed Begutachtung ist eine Publikation im Tagungsband der Informatik 2025 vorgesehen. Die geplanten Proceedings erscheinen in der gerankten Reihe „Lecture Notes in Informatics“ (LNI) der Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI).  

Die LNI-Reihe der GI ist in einschlägigen Rankings gelistet (bspw. VHB JQ3: C; WKWI Orientierungsliste B; SJR).

Workshop content

Data analytics is becoming increasingly important in science and practice. However, organisations and companies are increasingly facing challenges as well as opportunities. In particular, the combination of structured and unstructured data, data engineering and different analysis and visualisation methods are major challenges. The frequent lack of expertise in these areas is also a critical stumbling block. By using and analysing data, processes in various areas can be improved or even newly implemented, but often only with the help of external service providers or internal competence centres. Newer technologies, e.g. from the field of Generative AI / Large Language Models and the combination with established approaches (e.g. agents, ontologies, etc.) represent further new opportunities and challenges for companies. The workshop aims to present and discuss scientific findings on the opportunities and challenges to show the community a contribution to this important topic in science and practice.  

Possible topics or subject areas (not limited to these)

  • Development and utilisation of data analytics solutions  
  • Opportunities and challenges of data analytics in service and production companies  
  • Organisational anchoring of the development and operation of data analytics solutions (analytics centre of excellence, data science teams, external service providers)   
  • Utilisation of differently structured data (unstructured, semi-structured, structured) in data analytics projects  
  • Use of NLP, generative AI / LLMs, agent AI, chatbots, Q&A systems, object recognition, voice analytics, simulation for data analysis and process mining 
  • Adoption, acceptance and comprehensibility of data analytics solutions, explainable AI 
  • Ensuring data quality in analytics projects  
  • Data visualisation and data storytelling in data analytics projects 
  • Use of synthetic data for training data analytics solutions  
  • Compliance and legal aspects of data analytics solutions  
  • Specifics of data analytics for SMEs

  • Ecological impact and sustainability aspects and resource consumption of data analytics, Green AI 
  • Etc. 

Both theoretical and practice-oriented contributions related to data analytics are welcome.

Publication

After successful peer-reviewed review, a publication in the conference proceedings of Informatik 2025 is planned. The planned proceedings will be published in the ranked series „Lecture Notes in Informatics“ (LNI) of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI). 

The LNI series of the GI is listed in relevant rankings (e.g. VHB JQ3: C; WKWI Orientierungsliste B; SJR).
